VGR’s G2 – Global Growth Global Future initiative is underway! Join the region’s leadership and invest in “G2” core strategies to sustain economic competitiveness. VGR’s 2006-2010 Momentum Program demonstrated enormous return-on-investment success based on the public and private sector partnership to create over 3,500 new jobs and $1.4B in capital improvements.
The G2 goal is to earn $4.25 million in program investments pledged over five years. Goal achievement allows VGR to pursue:
- 1,500 new primary jobs resulting in 5,648 total new jobs
- $328M in new payroll earnings annually from those jobs
- $650M in new capital investment, driving development activity in the region
- $221M in new net personal consumer expenditures annually, to benefit service providers and retailers
The G2 program benefits everyone in the Richmond-Petersburg MSA. Businesses thrive with more customers using discretionary income. Jobs secured in advanced manufacturing, food manufacturing and health care plus research & development (and other production as well as services industries) bring money into Virginia’s Gateway Region.
