Chesterfield County is located in east-central Virginia on the Interstate 95 corridor between the city of Richmond to the north and Petersburg and Colonial Heights to the south. The city of Hopewell is located southeast of the county. Chesterfield is one of Virginia’s fastest growing communities owing to a robust and diversified economy, a highly-skilled labor force, and an expanding highway and transportation network. The aggressive road building posture taken by the county has helped spawn a significant increase in its inventory of available commercial and industrial properties.
Washington, D.C., is approximately 110 miles north, and Norfolk is 85 miles east.
The independent city of Colonial Heights with a land area of 8.15 square miles is situated on the Appomattox River in southeastern Virginia. Strategically located on Interstate 95 near the intersection of two other interstate highways, Colonial Heights is easily accessibly to the major markets of the East Coast.
Colonial Heights is 20 miles south of Richmond and 120 miles south of Washington, D.C. The Port of Hampton Roads is 80 miles southeast.
Dinwiddie County, a 502 square mile community, is located in the Appomattox Basin in the southeastern portion of Virginia. Strategically situated on Interstates 85 and 95, the county is easily accessible to the major markets of the North and the Southern Piedmont Crescent.
Richmond is 25 miles north, and Washington, D.C. is 140 miles north. The Port of Hampton Roads is 100 miles east.
The city of Hopewell is centrally located in southeastern Virginia at the confluence of the Appomattox and James rivers. This 11 square mile inland port community is on Interstate 295 and is easily accessible to Interstates 64, 85 and 95, making it an excellent location to serve the markets of the East and Midwest.
Hopewell is 25 miles south of Richmond and 120 miles south of Washington, D.C. The Port of Hampton Roads is 90 miles southeast.
The independent city of Petersburg consists of 23.1 square miles and is located in southcentral Virginia. Petersburg is bordered on the north by the Appomattox River. The city, strategically located at the junction of Interstates 85 and 95 and the site of two mainline railroads, enables industries to easily access the markets of the East and Midwest.

Prince George County is centrally located in southeastern Virginia. The 276 square mile county is bordered on the north by the James River and the west by the Appomattox River. The cities of Petersburg and Colonial Heights constitute the southwest border and Hopewell forms the northeast border. Prince George County is ideally situated on Interstates 95 and 295. The county provides ready access to all major East Coast and Sunbelt markets.

Surry County is located in southeastern Virginia. This 306 square mile county is bounded on the north by the James River. Surry County’s close proximity to major military, naval and research centers makes it an ideal location for contractor facilities.
Surry County is 50 miles southeast of Richmond, the state capital, and 176 miles south of Washington, D.C. The Port of Hampton Roads is 40 miles southeast.
Sussex County is located in south-central Virginia. This 496 square mile community is bisected by Interstate 95 and is strategically positioned between the Richmond-Petersburg and Norfolk-Virginia Beach-Newport News metropolitan areas.
Sussex County is 45 miles south of Richmond, and 150 miles south of Washington, D.C. The Port of Hampton Roads is 50 miles east.
