We all know that economic development is a team sport. Virginia’s Gateway Region collaborates with local governments, public and private partners, and countless others to make our eight communities competitive. This year we will present the first annual “VGR Economic Development Ambassador of the Year Award” to recognize an outstanding individual for their effort in advancing the economic viability of the Gateway Region. The winner will be announced and recognized at VGR’s 51st annual meeting on February 21, 2012. So that we may continue to learn from each other, VGR urges you to identify an economic development champion and nominate him or her for consideration TODAY!
