The Crater Regional Workforce Investment Group stands firm behind our mission of linking businesses to people, local officials, public and private agencies and training providers for economic development to build a highly trained and motivated workforce.
Our goal is to serve every one of our clients and organizations to the best of our ability and provide the assistance and support necessary for them to achieve their own goals, and ultimately contribute to the quality of life in the Crater Region.
The Crater Regional Workforce Investment Group administers three Workforce (One-Stop) Career Centers for employers and job seekers across the Crater Region. These centers help businesses find qualified job seekers, while providing one of the most efficient ways to retain existing employees by training them to keep pace with industry standards. Up-to-date labor market information and statistics for the Crater Region and much more can be obtained through the Workforce Career Centers and this site.
In addition to the Centers, we are helping businesses by designing education and training programs. Training providers are carefully selected, and performance measures are monitored annually to ensure the highest level of service is provided to our customers.
Our Local Workforce Investment Area includes all of the Crater Regional Planning District and the Emporia/Greensville area. This includes the cities of Colonial Heights, Emporia, Hopewell and Petersburg and the counties of southern Chesterfield, Dinwiddie, Greensville, Prince George, Sussex and Surry.
