Explore some of the Gateway Region’s workforce training assets below:

  • The Virginia Jobs Investment Program (VJIP) helps offset recruiting and training costs incurred by companies either creating new jobs or implementing new technological upgrades. In addition to offering direct funding, VJIP provides assistance with workforce-related challenges and organizational development workshops.
  • The Manufacturing Skills Institute (MSI) is an industry certification system founded to meet the needs of new and existing employers in advanced manufacturing and technology fields. MSI training produces workers prepared to operate precision machinery, systems and processes, with skills including machine programming, CAD, precision measurement, machine troubleshooting and maintenance.
  • The Community College Workforce Alliance offers customized training for your company with strong training programs in Lean Six Sigma, project management, process improvement and American Production and Inventory Control Society.
