‘Hops in the Park’ Sets Inaugural Event Nov. 14

Richmond Times-Dispatch

The inaugural “Hops in the Park” Harvest Festival will take place at Henricus Historical Park in Chesterfield County this fall.

The Nov. 14 event aims to showcase “the growing link between Virginia agriculture and Virginia craft beer” with craft beer, plus live music and Virginia-grown products.

Todd P. Haymore, Virginia’s Secretary of Agriculture and Forestry, announced details of the festival Tuesday.

The Henricus Foundation will host the festival with sponsorship from the Virginia Department of Agriculture and Forestry and Consumer Services’ Virginia Grown Program, MeadWestvaco, the Old Dominion Hops Cooperative and the Chesterfield County Economic Development.

Breweries in the state that use Virginia-grown products in their beers will be featured.

The festival will also have a speaker series, discussing aspects of Virginia’s growing craft beer supply chain.
