Dinwiddie County Fair (3)County fairs, festivals and holiday traditions in the area provide great fun for families. Some of the biggest each year include the Parade of Lights, a tacky Christmas lights parade on boats; the Festival of Grapes & Hops, a popular beer and wine festival in Old Towne Petersburg; and the Pork, Pine & Peanut Festival, a huge outdoor music, boating and family festival on a historic plantation in Surry County. New in 2015 is Hops in the Park, an event that combines a love of beer with a one of history. Many other annual events keep things interesting, not to mention additional nationally-known festivals in the area like the Folk Festival and Dominion RiverRock are just a quick car ride away.
