Annual Festivals & Events
Dinwiddie County Fair (3)County fairs, festivals and holiday traditions in the area provide great fun for families. Some of the biggest each year include the Parade of Lights, a tacky Christmas lights parade on boats; the Festival of Grapes & Hops, a popular beer and wine festival in Old Towne Petersburg; and the Pork, Pine & Peanut Festival, a huge outdoor music, boating and family festival on a historic plantation in Surry County. New in 2015 is Hops in the Park, an event that combines a love of beer with a one of history. Henricus Historical Park in Chesterfield County will display the history of beer in Virginia, exposure to the beautiful sights of the James River and insights of the historical park. Many other annual events keep things interesting, not to mention additional nationally-known festivals in the area like the Folk Festival and Dominion RiverRock are just a quick car ride away.
