Jamestown Settlement

The Jamestown Settlement tells the story of the arrival of the English colonists in the early 1600s, including cultural encounters and early events that lead to America as it is today. As the U.S.'s first permanent settlement, history is alive when you visit, through galleries, films and outdoor living exhibits such as recreations of the Powhatan Indian village, English ships and colonial forts. While you are there, you can dine at the Jamestown Settlement Cafe and visit the gift shop to bring some history home with you.
